This was a disappointing purchase. I was hoping it would be a cheaper alternative to a Better Bottle but its not even close in quality. The plastic is an off white color, no where near clear. Yes you can see the beer inside but its hard to tell what color it is. The neck of the bottle is much smaller than a standard 6g carboy and will not fit a #10 stopper in it. Its threaded? This would indicate some sort of cap, but I cannot find one that fits. No, it does not come with this cap either. The plastic is poorly formed and has an off smell to it as well, which I have to assume would transfer to any beer or wine you put in it. I say assume, because I will not be using this. Also, Amazon's return policy prevents me from returning this which means I just wasted $20. If you want a plastic carboy, don't waste your money. Spend a little more and get a Better Bottle. I have many of these and they are much, much better.

I have now purchased 2 of these for home brewing and they work perfectly and are by far one of the least expensive options out there. As the other reviewer said the carboy is not clear but you can still see the amount of liquid but cannot see clarity of the liquid. Overall a great home brew carboy for the price.
23 liters is about 6.075 US gallons -- perfect for a wine kit.

This product does not claim to be made of PET plastic which means that it will leach dangerous chemicals into your liquid. It will also transfer off flavors and aromas from one batch to another. Spend a few extra bucks and get a carboy made of PET plastic.
